My Personal Vocational Identity – Spiritual Care Giver and Pastoral Director I am a Mystic at heart and a Soul Care Companion by commission. Each respectively describes the redemptive and mission aspects of my journey and calling. In my early twenties I experienced a pivotal shift from the outward journey of religious experience, church, and para-church activities to an intimate, private, covenant call to the inner life with Christ. In this season I have been drawn outward to an intentional vocational lifestyle as a spiritual director, with a pronounced pastoral direction application within the spectrum of soul care. My goal is to cultivate an awareness of God’s presence, how to be with Him and be like Him by practicing the art of listening, prayer, and application of scripture. I have the privilege of offering soul care as His representative heralding Him as King. I believe current world events offer us an unique opportunity to awaken souls to Christ and shape a formation of a Christian world view in our current climate. Dr. Bruce Demarest, author of the ‘Soul Guide’ says in his book that “We don’t stir up our God-given gifts and talents: we don’t enter the 'callings' God has coded into us at birth, we don’t walk in the works God has prepared for us to do.” I believe that this is the heart's desire of many but they just need someone to come along side and guide them.
My desire is to continually live in the presence of God, coming into alignment with His work of redemption and inheritance, and thereby encourage, build up and edify the Body of Christ by identifying gifts, calling forth purpose and application of biblical truth, for the advancement of the Kingdom. I am a graduate of Denver Seminary’s Christian Formation and Soul Care certification program in order to under gird my vocation as a Spiritual Director. I have accompanied Christ followers on their pilgrimage, by helping them to understand their paths and stages of spiritual growth and invite them to engage in spiritual disciplines that nurture growth and transformation.
